So, I’m about to dive into some hippie shit that some of you may be into, some of you may be curious about, and some of you may think is plain old BS. So let’s go……Bonsai.
Earthing/grounding has no doubt been around for a very long time, and is currently becoming more popular. I consider myself fortunate enough to have come across it about 2 years ago while we were living in Reno, NV. To be honest, I can’t even remember how I came across it. It was more than likely because of some random IG page I started following which sent me down a rabbit hole. Thinking back to it now it was probably the Earthrunners IG page. I’ll talk more about Earthrunners at a later date.
A simple google search of earthing or grounding will produce numerous results talking about the benefits of earthing/grounding. To give a brief explanation, earthing/grounding is the act of having direct physical contact to the Earth either by walking barefoot on grass, dirt, or sand, swimming in natural bodies of water. The Earth inherently has a negative charge and throughout our daily lives, especially with all of the technology we are constantly tethering ourselves to, we are continually taking on free radicals. These free radicals are believed to be major contributors to disease (think of it as dis-ease) processes, poor quality of sleep, disrupted cortisol levels, and the NUMBER ONE issue in chronic dis-ease processes…..inflammation!
So when you talk about earthing/grounding, you talk about being physically connected to the Earth, and in turn taking on the negative charge it emits. What this does is counteract the positive ions, or free radicals, we take on in our daily lives and essentially neutralize them. Now I know some of you are sitting there thinking, “what the hell is this hippie shit?”, “this is BS”, “what is he even talking about”……hopefully some of you are sitting there scratching your heads and wondering how you can get on the earthing/grounding train. There are certainly many other articles out there talking about the earthing process and I’m certain you can find them. I don’t want this to get to long or in depth with my own personal process of Earthing on this post. I’ll save that for another one and hopefully you’ll read that one. But I will say that I do take part in the earthing practice and within the last week rigged my bed up to be grounded and I honestly feel like my sleep has already improved.
