With our continuous adventures and my planning tendencies, I’m seeking an app that can help me to identify trails in various areas. My typical googling patterns are starting to drive me nuts! My search results are voluminous and I end up reading a LOT of online content I’d not intended to when first embarking on the planning process. Although I do learn a LOT about others (online) and often find gems buried seven tabs deep into my browser window, time is valuable and I’d like to stay more focused on the task(s) at hand.
So, I’m going to pilot the first two apps that return in my search of “hiking” in the app store. Those two apps are:
Gaia GPS: https://www.gaiagps.com/
All Trails: https://www.alltrails.com/mobile
Now as I’m looking at the app store again, I realize I’m really curious about the Hiking Project app. S-Rad uses the Mountain Project app regularly for locating rocks to climb, so I wonder if the hiking version from those developers is of the same quality. Have you tried the Hiking project?
Reviews of these apps to come. Stay tuned!
